We will meet you in Homemade’s artisanal workshop in Barcelona, in a very unique and special environment. Here, you will be surrounded by finished espadrilles and all the parts we use to make them.
Before we get to work on our espadrilles, we will tell you about the fascinating story of these beautiful local shoes. We will go into detail about the materials we use to make them.
You will learn about this age old tradition, and how the espadrille shoe was initially made by and for humble people. And finally, you’ll learn how the shoe becomes one of the most trendy shoes in the world.
Afterwards, you will choose the color and size of the base, the ribbons, the threads, and the type of stitching. Once you’ve done that, you’ll stitch your very own traditional espadrilles, following our instructions.
Once finished, you will learn the different traditional and modern ways to lace them up. At the end you can even walk out of the shop with your shoes on your feet!
